We are now accepting nominations for the Southwest Catalysis Society Award for Excellence in Applied Catalysis. This award is given to an individual or research team from North America to recognize outstanding contributions in applied research in homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysis. The emphasis of the award is to recognize individuals or teams who have contributed to the application or understanding of catalysis in a commercial setting. The award is open to both industrial and academic applicants, and consists of a plaque and a $1,500 prize. Scientists and engineers working in industry, government labs or agencies, and academic researchers will all be eligible for the Award. Special consideration will be given to the originality and creativity of work and to its potential commercial impact. The research must have been carried out in North America.
The nomination packet should contain: 1) resume/CV of the nominee; 2) at least one nomination letter including a specific description of the impact of the nominee’s achievements in catalysis; 3) reprints of up to three patents or papers that demonstrate the nominee’s excellence.
